The Practice of Softness

Over the weekend, I found myself choosing three simple words as a way of being:
Live Silently. Live Gently. Live Beautifully.
Then Monday’s Kundalini wisdom arrived almost as an affirmation:
Be Gentle. Be Quietly Present.
Perhaps this is what meditation slowly teaches us—not to escape difficult emotions or chase beautiful experiences, but to become gentler with life itself.
There is strength in softness. There is wisdom in stillness. There is healing in choosing what is gentle, true, and aligned with peace.
I am learning that I don’t have to respond to everything. I don’t have to explain everything. I don’t have to chase every invitation, every opportunity, or every answer.
Peace is found in simply becoming quiet enough to listen.
Gentleness is not weakness. It is the ability to soften without losing yourself, to remain open without abandoning discernment, and to meet life without constantly fighting against what is.
I realize this is my practice now: To speak less. To soften more. To stay present. And to trust that a beautiful life can emerge from a quiet, gentle heart.
