Fall is Getting in the Door

Fall is not quite here yet, but close enough to feel it.
The mornings carry a little more coolness. The evenings arrive with a crispness that wasn’t there a few weeks ago. The warmth of summer is beginning to loosen its grip, making room for something quieter.
I love this time of year.
I love the crispness in the air, the changing light, the gradual turning of the leaves. I even love the cold that comes later—the kind that makes you pull your coat a little closer and breathe more deeply.
Fall doesn’t arrive demanding attention. It simply begins to change things. A little less heat. A little more stillness. A little more space to breathe. And somehow, without asking permission, the season turns.
Fall is getting in the door. And I am happy to let it in.
