Walking Out of the Fog

Something has shifted.
For nearly eight months, the Walk For Peace Facebook page became my little universe. I followed its many platforms day and night and immersed myself deeply in that world.
It was meaningful. It opened something in me. It brought me to the spiritual path which otherwise I would never have awakened to. For that, I am forever grateful.
But today, it dawned on me that I no longer needed to keep my face under the water. The tautness of the attachment had loosened, so that I could start assimilating all the teachings received and start living it.
I still have tremendous appreciation for the monks and for the movement. But the umbilical cord I unintentionally tied to that particular realm is gently severed. I can walk now. And that is the real gift, a form of spiritual maturity, in a sense.
Something about this feels like a new stage, after walking out of the fog.
