Untangle

The gifts we tuck away are jewels too, waiting to be untangled and brought into the light.

Today I find the quietude inside to attend to the most insignificant task that has been pushed to the last of the last of things to do ~ Untangling and hanging the delicate necklaces at my dresser.

It seems like a no-brainer for such a task but surprisingly. it took stillness. It's as if I was transported to a place void of past and future, fully immersed in the intricacies of unravelling the finely knotted chains. Time stood still. Only presence. Nothing else.

Looking at them now - lined up, some free, some still stubbornly entwined - it dawned on me this is not just about jewelry. Some parts of us are ready to shine immediately, others take time and patience to loosen, and a few may remain in knots until the season comes for them to be gently released.

These few necklaces are the most delicate and prized in my collection - yet I have kept them tucked away in a tiny jewelry box. Because they are "special", they remain hidden, unseen, and unused.

Isn't that how we sometimes treat our own gifts? The smallest traits, the quietest talents, the overlooked pieces of who we are - each is a jewel in its own right. And yet, out of fear, or habit, or the belief that they must be kept safe, or that "one day when", we fold them neatly inside and leave them unseen and unbeknownst to the world.

But jewels are never meant to stay hidden. Just like the necklaces, our gifts find their meaning only when they are brought into the light, untangled, and allowed to shine.

When we allow our unique gifts, laying dormant in knots within all these while, to be untangled, liberated and brought into the light, a whole world of possibilities opens.
