Such is Life

Updated: Oct 22

Today, while mending the fallen metal-stringed rim decor on my lightweight black cardigan, I caught a glimpse of life itself.

It began in a neat pattern - balanced, rhythmic, easy to follow. Then came a few missteps. A twist here, a bend there. Before long, the once-straight line became contorted. I tried to realign them, to bring everything back to order, but it never returned quite the same.

And yet, as I looked at it - imperfect but still holding together - I realized it had its own kind of beauty. The bends told a story. The unevenness gave it character. It was no longer flawless, but it was real.

Maybe that's how life works too. We begin innocent and pure, moving in rhythm, in structure. Then come the stumbles, the falls. We adapt, adjust, recalibrate. We lose our line, find our footing, and try again. No matter how carefully we straighten the pieces, we are never quite the same as before.

By the close of a phase, or the end of a chapter, we look back and see that the path was never straight. It curved, twisted, and turned - yet every bend brought us to exactly where we are meant to be today.

Simply watching this play out in the pattern on my cardigan, I felt I had witnessed a quiet life lesson.
