Quiet satisfaction in your role can be more powerful than a title you don't truly want.
I've been asked for look for Chief of Staff positions. But all the cells in my body scream no.
To me, a Chief of Staff requires a completely different skillset, mentality, energy, and way of being. It's someone who sees the big picture, strategizes across the organization, coordinates conversations, and drives projects across the board - almost like the CEO's right brain.
That's not where I am, and it's not where my strengths lie.
My power comes from seeing the whole picture from my own seat, discerning how things interweave, and executing projects with details, while quietly offering insights to my CEO, when it's the right thing to do.
I am not driving from the front, but I am executing behind the scenes. I don't strategize from the higher plane but implements from ground zero.
Success is not about the high-sounding title, but about excelling in the space where my skills naturally thrive, where I am contributing in ways that feel authentic.
I want to be clear - For assistants who have horned their skills to the level of energy, vision, and acumen of a Chief of Staff, please go boldly and shine in that space. It can be an incredible opportunity to influence the organization at the highest level.
For me, though, my strengths lie in quietly executing, connecting the dots behind the scenes, and guiding outcomes in a way that feels energetically aligned.
