Back to the Ocean

Today is October 1.
September felt like a month of reaching - stretching myself forward, trying to grasp what seemed just beyond me. But now, as this new month begins, I return to the vast ocean within. My heart is absolutely calm and quiet. No reaching, No arching. No grasping.
Alan Watts spoke of the ocean. We are like waves rising from its surface - unique in form, yet never separate from the water itself. A wave may rise high and tumble down, but it always returns to the ocean, because it was never apart from it in the first place.
We, too, are those waves. Rising and falling, cresting and dissolving - yet always, and forever, the ocean itself.
Alan Watts' lecture : The meaning of life is just to be alive
